Today was the first day in class for Effingham Unit 40, St. Anthony and Sacred Heart school students.

Effingham city police are keeping a watchful eye on traffic around school locations. City police officer Jim Dillow is seen monitoring traffic near West Side School on Fayette Avenue.

Authorities ask that you please obey speed limit laws, especially in school zones.
