The St. Elmo and Brownstown school boards appointed their representatives on a Committee of Ten that will study the possible consolidation of the two districts.

St. Elmo members of the committee are Michelle Schaal, Mandy Miller, Shannon Moss, Mindy Healy and Jake McWhorter.

The boards are considering placing a consolidation question on the March election ballot, which is also the presidential primary election. Both districts have attempted consolidation in the past, but the efforts have failed. The proposal has to pass in both school districts to be approved.

The Board approved a contract with the St. Elmo Education Association for the new school year.

In personnel action, the St. Elmo board accepted a resignation from Jamie Summers; employed Rachel Hicks as PreK/Early Childhood teacher; hired Lisa Bain as a Physical Education aide; and accepted the resignation of Logan Mahon as head junior high boys basketball coach.

The Board also accepted a tentative fiscal year budget for the coming year and set their September meeting for the 29th so enough time will have elapsed for final action on the budget.
