A four-year-old boy missing from Herrin City Park has been found dead.

Herrin police answered a call of a missing boy at the park at 2:35pm Saturday. After an extensive search of the park and surrounding area, the child was located in a pond within the park at around 5:30pm. The Williamson County Coroner pronouncec the child dead at 6pm. Foul play is not suspected.

Initially, the missing boy was part of a statewide Amber Alert. The report was that the boy's five-year-old sister saw him placed in a vehicle by a white male. Authorities later said that the description of the boy found in the pond matched that of the missing boy.
