Governor Helps Salute Zumwalt as Illinois Ag in Classroom Teacher of Year

(AMONG THOSE ON HAND FOR THE ILLINOIS AG IN THE CLASSROOM TEACHER OF THE YEAR CEREMONY WERE ILLINOIS AGRICULTURE DIRECTOR PHILIP NELSON, ILLINOIS GOVERNOR BRUCE RAUNER, ILLINOIS AG IN THE CLASSROOM TEACHER OF THE YEAR MARY ZUMWALT, ILLINOIS STATE FAIR QUEEN SADIE GASSMAN AND AN UNIDENTIFIED MAN)

Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner was among those on hand as Altamont Lutheran Interparish School teacher Mary Zumwalt was honored as Illinois Ag in the Classroom Teacher of the Year.

The ceremony took place Sunday at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield. 

Zumwalt had received the honor last September from the Illinois Farm Bureau. That was followed up with the presentation at the State Fair.
