One of the considerations when the Neoga school board voted to cut the school day short by one hour as a cost-cutting move was where the children would go if Mom and Dad are at work.

The question is being answered through the Latchkey Program, an after-school program being offered by Grace United Methodist Church in Neoga. The school board Thursday voted to provide transportation to the program at the end of the school day.

Some 40 students are already expected to take advantage of the program.

Also Thursday, the Neoga board agreed to share the services of a nurse with the Stewardson-Strasburg school district. Neoga will utilize the nurse four-fifths of the time, while Stew-Stras will use the nurse about 1/5 of the time.

Board members also discussed the continuing process of aligning the Math curriculum.
