Effingham Water Authority trustees got a report on boat covers at Monday's meeting.

The boating committee reviewed information regarding custom boat covers, and saw no problem with the covers so long as they are attached to an existing dock, not free-standing, and meet other current building guidelines. The Board tabled the matter for further review.

Also Monday, Trustee Rob Brown stated a letter was sent to Danny Hankins with a summary of requirements he must meet with respect to the beach lease and Illinois' sanitary requirements for public beaches. The Board will monitor Hankins' compliance.

The Board awarded bids for asphalt and for printing materials, and heard from Lake Superintendent Michael Dirks that the lake water level is down two inches.
