Effingham city police are investigating the theft of a motor vehicle owned by Central Illinois Construction.

The theft occurred while the vehicle, a 2006 red GMC Sierra, was parked in the 1000 block of South Maple between 3pm Saturday and 7pm Sunday. The vehicle is valued at $8,000.

Also stolen during the incident were miscellaneous construction tools located inside the vehicle. The tools were valued at about $500.

Police are also investigating the theft of a key fob and a diamond/ruby ring. The theft occurred at Hendelmeyer Park on Sunday between 11am and 4pm.

Also under investigation...a theft from an outbuilding in the 1100 block of East Fayette between midnight Friday and 10am Sunday, where three saddles and an assortment of power tools were taken, and the theft of a weedeater from a yard in the 400 block of St. Anthony Avenue between 8:10pm and 8:34pm Friday.
