Two Crashes w/Injuries Over Weekend in City

Two crashes involving injuries occurred in Effingham over the weekend. The crashes occurred two minutes apart.

At 5:19pm Friday, a vehicle driven by 58-year-old Ray Rouleau of Brownstown rear-ended a vehicle driven by 61-year-old Gary Phillips of Effingham, causing Phillips' vehicle to rear-end a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Reidd Peterson of Neoga.

Phillips was injured and was taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. 

Rouleau was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.

Two minutes later, at 5:21pm, a crash occurred at Keller Drive and Temple Avenue. Police say a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Angel Mann of Hidalgo struck a vehicle driven by 47-year-old Yvonne Hand of Effingham.

Hand was injured and was treated at St. Anthony's. 

No citations were issued.
