Man Found Dead Friday at Local Truck Stop Was From California

The man found dead Friday at a local truck stop was from California.

Effingham County Coroner Duane Guffey said the man was identified as 57-year-old Manohar Singh Gill of Fresno, California. Gill was found dead in his semi at Pilot Truck Stop Friday morning. Gill was pronounced dead at 11am. Local authorities had been contacted after the rig in which the body was found had not moved for some time.

No foul play is suspected. An autopsy was performed at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital. The final report will be released in six to eight weeks.

The investigation continues by the Effingham County Coroner's Office and the Effingham City Police Department. The Coroner's Office was assisted at the scene by the Effingham Fire Department and Effingham City-County Ambulance Service.
