Body Found in Semi in Effingham; No Foul Play Indicated

Local authorities discovered a body in a semi at Pilot Truck Stop around midday Friday.

Effingham City Police Supervisor of Investigations Todd Ebbert said police were notified by a citizen around 11am that a semi had been parked on the Pilot lot for some time. City police discovered a body inside the rig.

The Effingham County Coroner's Office was called to the scene. Effingham Fire Department assisted with the investigation.

Ebbert said no names are being released pending notification of next-of-kin. He said no foul play is indicated at this time.
