First Day of Activities at Effingham County Fair

The 2015 Effingham County Fair is underway.

Activities tonight will include Tonn of Fun Inflatables at 6pm, and Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League pull action at 6:30pm. Infield seats are $20, grandstand tickets are $12.

Evening events for the week are as follows:

SATURDAY, AUGUST 1--County Fair Talent Show at 5:30pm, Effingham County Junior Miss Pageant at 7:30pm

SUNDAY, AUGUST 2--Twilight Parade at 5:30pm, Master Showmanship in the 4-H Show Area at 6:30pm, Jason Hoult's Tribute to the Statler Brothers, 7:30pm

MONDAY, AUGUST 3--Midway Opens at regular prices at 6pm, Hastings Filters Truck, Tractor and Garden Tractor Pull at 6:30pm

TUESDAY, AUGUST 4--Midway Open with $20 armbands for rides, Miss Effingham County Fair Queen and Little Miss Pageant at 7pm

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5--4-H Auction at 5:30pm, Tractor Pull Antique Class at 6pm, Hastings Filters Truck, Tractor, Semi Pro Stock and Antiques at 7pm

THURSDAY, AUGUST 6--Midway Opens with $20 armbands for rides at 6pm, C-Bar Rodeo at 7:30pm

FRIDAY, AUGUST 7--Midway Opens at regular prices at 5pm, Broseph E. Lee at 7pm, Craig Wayne Boyd at 8pm

SATURDAY, AUGUST 8--Midway Opens at regular prices at 5:45pm, Demolition Derby and Lawnmower Soccer at 6:30pm

Despite state budget uncertainties that could affect funding, County Fair Board members have decided to move ahead with a full card of horse racing at this year's fair with full payouts. It should mean a good number of horses throughout the week. Harness racing will be featured Sunday through Thursday at 1pm, while thoroughbred and quarter horse races will take place on Friday at noon. A reminder that we'll broadcast all of the horse races; on Sunday on 979XFM and Monday through Friday on KJ Country 102.3.  

4-H judging at the starts on Saturday. A reminder that you'll be able to hear the judging results each day at 8:45am on KJ Country 102.3.
