Teutopolis schools received some substantial backing when HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital donated $20,000 to the Teutopolis Technology Fund.

This fund seeks to provide Teutopolis Unit #50 students with the necessary technology and skills that will prepare them for success in the 21st century. The fund’s initiative, coined Techtopolis by Teutopolis students and staff, strives to place a Chromebook in every student’s hands by the 2016-2017 school year. The fund will also provide technology support and professional development for teachers and staff.

President and CEO of HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Theresa Rutherford, believes supporting local schools is an important role of a community hospital.

“We are trying to build a healthy community,” says Rutherford, “and education is a big part of that."
