The cases of two Cumberland County men charged with armed robbery and home invasion have been concluded.

Nicholas Jackson and Zachary Sapp, both of Toledo, were arrested by Coles County authorities on charges of holding up the Casey's General Store in Mattoon last August and of entering a home in Mattoon and tying up the family inside in March 2014.

(NICHOLAS JACKSON)

Jackson was also charged in Effingham County with armed robbery for the holdup of the Econolodge in Effingham last August, one day after the Casey's holdup in Mattoon.

Jackson agreed to a negotiated plea in Coles County earlier this year and was sentenced to 27 years in prison on the armed robbery and home invasion charges in Coles County. He also was sentenced to three years in prison for a Cumberland County burglary in which he broke into a vehicle. That sentence is running concurrently with the Coles County sentence.

Jackson has since agreed to a negotiated plea on the armed robbery of the Econolodge. His Effingham County sentence was set at 20 years in prison, and is running concurrently with the Coles County sentence.

Meanwhile, Sapp has agreed to a negotiated plea in Coles County on the armed robbery and home invasion charges, and was sentenced to 30 years in prison on each of those offenses with those sentences running concurrently.
