Entries Being Accepted for Effingham County Fair Parade

The Effingham County Fair Twilight Parade will be held on Sunday, August 2, and the parade sponsors at Altamont Ambulance Service are encouraging pre-registration.

The parade theme is "Red, White and Blue--This Fair's for You". 

There will be cash prizes awarded for chosen parade category winners, with ribbons presented to all participants. Pre-registration is required for judged entries and must be received by August 1. Non-judged entries may register the day of the parade, but pre-registration is highly recommended.

The parade will take off from the parking lot or other designated staging areas at Altamont Community High School at 5:15pm to arrive at the grandstand by 5:30pm. Participants are to arrive between 3:45pm and 4:15pm to facilitate judging and parade lineup.

Online registration is encouraged at www.altamontambulance.com/parade_entry.html or you may use the entry form found on Page 77 of the 2015 fair premium book on the fair's website at www.effinghamcountyfair.com.  A short description of your parade entry of 35 words or less should be furnished with your entry form. Our own Greg Sapp will serve again this year as Master of Ceremonies for the parade.

This year's Effingham County Fair will run from July 31-August 8 at the fairgrounds at Altamont.
