Missouri Man Killed in Crash West of Altamont

A Missouri man was killed in a crash just west of Altamont Saturday morning.

The person killed was 48-year-old Jeffrey Noble of Fulton, Missouri. Illinois State Police say Noble was westbound when the car he was driving through the contruction zone on I-70, one mile west of Altamont, ran off the left side of the roadway into the median. The vehicle came back onto the roadway, overturned, and came to rest in the closed lane under construction. 

Noble was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred just before 6:30am, by the Effingham County Coroner's Office. The coroner's office and State Police are investigating the crash with the assistance of a State Police accident reconstruction officer.
