Effingham County American Cancer Society's Relay for Life leadership team is being recognized as a Pacesetter. An organization receives Pacesetter status when it achieves its fundraising goal before the Relay closing ceremony.

Relay for Life Mid-Illinois is saluting Sarah Fuesting, Ron Mietzner and others on the leadership team for the accomplishment. Not only did the local Relay for Life meet its goal of $110,000 by closing ceremony, but they blew past the goal, raising more than $120,000.

More than $30,000 was raised during the Relay event alone.
