Hot, Rainy Weather Continues

Our area will continue to experience hot and rainy weather during the early part of the week.

We remain under a Flash Flood Watch through 1am Tuesday. Several rounds of thunderstorms are expected over eastern Illinois, with the peak opportunity later this afternoon into this evening. The storms could dump an inch of rain in a half-hour. We could see one to two inches with local three-inch amounts possible.

The area will also be under a Heat Advisory from noon to 8pm today. Heat index values are expected to rise to around 105 degrees. Those working outside are encouraged to reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening, wear light weight and loose fitting clothing and drink plenty of water.
