Two People Involved in Pursuit Injured in Crash

Two people involved in a pursuit with police were injured Monday night when their vehicle crashed.

State police report 20-year-old Anthony Quinn of Glenwood was headed north on I-57, a mile north of Edgewood, at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred at 6:57pm. Police say Quinn was fleeing a police officer from Farina at the time of the crash. 

Quinn's vehicle ran off the roadway into a ditch and then overturned onto its top.

Quinn was injured, as was his passenger, 18-year-old Ashley Johnson of Glenwood. Both occupants were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Police say arrest information in the matter is still pending.
