A good crowd turned out along the route of the Effingham 4th of July parade Saturday.

Martin's IGA+ of Effingham was part of the procession. Store Owner Newlin Martin said the Effingham parade was their second one of the day. Another group of employees took part in the Dieterich parade. Martin said, "You couldn't hardly move for the people there."

Crossroads Bank brought a good sized contingent to the Effingham parade.

The Effingham Shriners had their fire trucks in the procession.

Dan Hecht Chevrolet-Toyota also took part in the parade. They are celebrating 25 years of selling Toyota vehicles, and had a 1990 model Toyota as part of the procession.

The Effingham County Cultural Center and Museum Association also took part in the parade, featuring a fire engine now housed by the Montrose Fire Protection District, but originally owned and used in a fire district in New Jersey.

The parade led to the Effingham High School athletic complex, which will be the scene of tonight's 4th of July fireworks display about 9pm.
