FACE Orchestra To Play; July 4th Parade Saturday

The City of Effingham Emergency Management Agency will hold the Fourth of July Parade Saturday beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The parade will begin at Second and Jefferson, headed west, it will turn south on Cherry and then turn west on Grove to end the parade at Effingham High School. Lineup will be on Second Street with first responders lining up on First Street. Lineup will begin at 4 p.m. The fireworks display will again be held at the Effingham High School athletic complex at dusk, around 9 p.m.

Registration is still being accepted for participation in the parade. Forms may be picked up at the Fire Station located at 505 West Fayette Avenue or contact Kim Tegeler at 217-342-5368 or 217-994-6427.

The FACE (Fine Arts Effingham County) Orchestra will be playing at 2 p.m. at the Effingham Park District building at Hendelmeyer Park Saturday, July 4.

Favorite patriotic selections will be played including America the Beautiful, The Armed Forces Salute, Stars and Stripes Forever and many more. The concert will conclude around 3 p.m. so the parade, fireworks and other festivities may be enjoyed. The public is invited, rain or shine, in the air-conditioned fire arts room of the park district building.
