A 28-year-old Altamont man arrested in a federal drug roundup in January has been sentenced to 15 years and eight months in prison.

Travis Cole Maxfield earlier pleaded guilty to all of the grand jury indictments brought against him. They included conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine from October 2013 through May 2014 in St. Clair, Clinton and Marion counties; manufacture of meth on February 26, 2014 in St. Clair County; distribution of meth on March 5, 2014 in Marion County; and two counts of possession of a listed chemical (pseudoephedrine) knowing or having reason to know that it would be used to manufacture meth in St. Clair County.

In addition to the prison time Maxfield was ordered to pay a $500 fine and $500 special assessment. He'll also have to complete four years of supervised release once he gets out of prison.

Investigation leading to the charges against Maxfield was obtained in an investigation conducted by the FBI, the Marion and Clinton County Sheriff's Departments, and the Illinois State Police Methamphetamine Response Team.

Maxfield was one of 27 arrested in the federal drug roundup and the first to enter a guilty plea.
