Two people were injured in a crash in Edgewood late Saturday night.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Joseph Hutchison of Chillicothe was traveling south on Illinois Route 37 and attempted to turn left onto Broad Street when Hutchison lost control of the vehicle. The unit struck the ditch, a railroad sign and a building owned by ADM Grain.

Hutchison and his passenger, 55-year-old Toby Hutchison of Edgewood, were injured. Joseph Hutchison was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment, while Toby Hutchison was not taken for treatment.

Sheriff's deputies later arrested Joseph Hutchison on counts of leaving the scene of the crash, failure to report the crash and improper lane usage. Toby Hutchison was cited for obstructing a peace officer and failure to report the crash.

The crash occurred just after 11:30pm Saturday.
