Elderly Newton Man Injured in Crash

An elderly Newton resident was injured in a crash involving a pickup truck and a semi Tuesday afternoon.

State police say a pickup truck driven by 90-year-old Kenneth Trimble of Newton crossed the centerline on Illinois 33 at Wheeler and hit the side of a semi driven by a Salt Lake City, Utah man. Trimble's pickup truck ended up in a ditch.

Trimble was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The crash happened at 3pm Tuesday.
