The public has once again proved generous when it comes to a fundraising effort, in this case the project to place a memorial to fallen District 12 Illinois State Police troopers on the lawn of the Effingham County Courthouse Museum.

(A SCALE REPLICA OF THE MEMORIAL)

Kathy Schroeder of Effingham Sunrise Rotary, the agency spearheading the project and the fundraising, said approximately $13,000 has been raised toward the goal of $15,000, and efforts are underway to put the project over the top.

Schroeder said some fundraisers have generated much of the money, but said gifts of all sizes are being received.
