Group Study Exchange teams have been coming to Effingham for many years, part of an effort to promote peace and understanding among the nations of the world.

This year's team, from Denmark, has been touring the local Rotary District for more than three weeks and is headed home on Friday. In the meantime, the team is visiting Effingham this week. Team members include a school vice-principal, a business advisor, a chemical engineer, a nurse, and a music educator.

Host clubs from the Effingham Noon and Sunrise Rotary clubs have provided host families for the team members during their visit. The group has been kept busy, touring local businesses and industries, socializing and soaking up the local culture.

Several GSE teams from central Illinois have traveled worldwide through the years, including team members from Effingham.
