An Effingham woman was injured in a crash on Memorial Day.

The crash happened shortly after 3pm. Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports 48-year-old April Bannick was traveling on 1900th Street, just south of 600th Avenue, when her shoe got caught in the gas pedal. Bannick lost control of the vehicle, which ran off the east side of the road and overturned onto the passenger side.

Bannick was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. No citations were issued.
