Weekend Crash Claims Life of Local Woman

A crash in Edwards County over the Memorial Day weekend claimed the life of a local woman.

57-year-old Leah Koester of Teutopolis was fatally injured in a crash on Illinois 130 in front of Albion Equipment, just north of Albion, shortly after 11:30am Sunday. The nearly head-on crash also fatally injured 65-year-old George Thomas, Jr. of Noble.

Leah Koester died at Wabash General Hospital, while Thomas died in an Evansville hospital.
