Two ATV Riders Injured in Jasper County

Two ATV riders were injured in a collision Saturday night in Jasper County.

State police say the ATV operated by 28-year-old Jared Sudkamp of Teutopolis was one of a group of ATVs traveling on a county road about a mile west of Wheeler at 8:45pm. The Sudkamp ATV stopped and was struck by another unit. The Sudkamp unit ended up off the road in a ditch. The other units left the scene.

Sudkamp and his passenger, 26-year-old Catherine Sudkamp of Teutopolis, were both injured and were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
