The 2015 Watson Area Homecoming is set for a Friday and Saturday celebration.
Here's the schedule:
FRIDAY
5-10PM--Food and craft vendors on the Civic Center grounds
5-8PM--Bounce Houses--Civic Center grounds
5-7PM--Music by Russ Howard--Pavilion
6:30PM--Lawn Mower Races--behind the Civic Center
7PM--Memorial Service--Kent Robinson officiating--Watson Cemetery
SATURDAY
7-10AM--Breakfast in the Civic Center
9-10AM--Insanity Live Workout with Stacy Nelson in the Civic Center Gym...modifications given for all moves...followed by Shake and Share
8AM--Adult 20-mile bicycle challenge...registration will start at 7:15am at Martin Park...helmets required...for more information, phone Dan Stevenson at 217-343-4019
9AM-10PM--Food and craft vendors on the Civic Center Grounds
9AM--Registration for Motorcycle Fun Run at Danny's Quik Sak...ride leaves at 11AM...for more information, phone Jim "Spanky" Dial at 217-663-8014
11AM--Power Wheel Derby (a kids demo derby) on the Basketball Court
11AM--Kids Street Sprints...registration at Martin Park...helmets will be required...contact Dan Stevenson for more information, phone Dan Stevenson at 217-343-4019
Noon-4PM--Bounce Houses on the Civic Center Grounds
Noon-2PM--GW Variety Show Band in the Pavilion--contact Gary Beck at 757-816-6589 to participate
2-4PM--Wits and Wagers Game...Inside the Civic Center...contact Colby Higgs at 217-347-7297 for more information
2:30-3:30PM--Hot dog and watermelon eating contests in the pavilion...contact Blake Faber at 217-994-1734 for more information
4:30PM--Parade will start with lineup at 3:30PM in the Watson Baptist Church...contact 217-536-6711 for details
5:30PM--Gazebo Dedication...in Willow Park...following the parade
7-10:30PM--Three River Roll band will perform in the pavilion
9:30PM--Fireworks with a VFW Color Guard...and Abby Hagen will sing the National Anthem
There will be craft and food vendors all throughout the grounds, along with games for the kids.
