One person was killed when a car and ATV collided in Richland County.

The crash occurred at 2:13am Saturday on US 50, one mile west of Noble. State police say the ATV driven by 19-year-old Brandon Blackford of Olney was traveling eastbound on the highway while the car driven by 61-year-old Gerald Foster of Olney was westbound on the highway. Police say Foster then drove west in the eastbound lane in an apparent attempt to turn left off the highway and the units collided in the eastbound lane.

Blackford was first taken to Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, and then was transferred to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana where he died at 2:24pm Saturday.

Foster has been charged with DUI and improper lane usage, and additional charges are pending.
