The Cowden-Herrick school board has filled their vacant junior-senior high school principal's post.

Seth Schuler, currently a fourth grade teacher in the district, will begin his new duties on July 1. He will succeed Jerry Phillips, who was reassigned.

The Board discussed a proposed co-op of all Grades 7-12 sports programs with the Beecher City school district. Cowden-Herrick Superintendent Darrell Gordon said he and a board member will meet with Beecher City Superintendent Scott Cameron and a board member to address any issues before moving ahead with the full co-op. The two districts already co-op in several sports.

The Board increased breakfast fees by a quarter to $1.50 per meal to comply with Federal guidelines, and named Dennis Vaughn the junior high basketball coach.
