Crash On Route 45 Sends One to Hospital

A crash on US 45 north of Effingham sent one person to the hospital Monday.

The crash occurred at 1:24pm at Green Creek Road, about two miles north of town. Effingham County Sheriff's Department reported a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Kylee Black of Effingham was traveling north on the highway when a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Jordan Bloemer of Effingham attempted to cross the highway and the units collided.

Blake was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

Bloemer was cited for failure to yield at the intersection.
