No Hearing Today in Ambulance Suit

No hearing will be held today in a suit brought by Altamont Ambulance Service against the Effingham County Board.

Altamont Ambulance is suing the County, saying the County breached their contract with the ambulance service by amending the county ambulance ordinance to allow other ambulance companies to handle non-emergency transfers in the county.

For their part, the County is alleging that Altamont Ambulance has committed a series of violations of the contract.

Chris Koester, representing the County in the matter, said a temporary injunction in place in the matter will remain in effect while a trial date on the breach of contract allegation is scheduled.
