A car and tractor pulling an implement collided in Shelby County Monday morning.

The crash happened on US 51, south of Ramsey in Fayette County just after 11am.

State police say a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Heidi Metz of Pontiac struck a tractor pulling a disc driven by a 41-year-old Brownstown man. Metz told authorities she was distracted by her GPS and did not notice the slow-moving vehicle.

Metz was injured and was taken to Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia for treatment. She was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash, and for not wearing her seat belt.

The tractor driver, whose name was not immediately made available, was not injured.
