A Louisville woman was injured in a Friday crash south of Effingham.

The crash happened at 10:04am on US 45, just south of 650th Avenue. Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a car driven by 56-year-old Richard Spalding, Jr. of Newburg, Indiana had slowed for a fire truck when it was rear-ended by a pickup truck driven by 69-year-old Virginia Vautonberg of Louisville.

Vautonberg was injured and was taken for treatment to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Vautonberg was cited for failure to yield to avoid the crash.
