South Central Hires New Elementary Principal

The South Central Board of Education has hired a new elementary school principal.

The new principal is Sara Rose, who currently works for Regional Office of Education #13, which serves Clinton, Marion and Washington counties.

South Central Superintendent Rick Batchelor said Rose has worked for the ROE office for about five years. Prior to that, she taught in the East Richland School District in Olney and at St. Peter Lutheran School.

Batchelor said they had 35 applicants for the job and said, "25 of those were really good candidates." 

Rose will begin her duties for South Central on July 1. She will succeed Kerry Herdes, who has been named South Central Superintendent upon Batchelor's retirement on June 30.
