Teutopolis Recycling Reminders

The Teutopolis Recycling Program would like to emphasize that ONLY PLASTIC, CARDBOARD AND STEEL CANS are collected at the site across from St. Francis Catholic Church.

Inside the Paper Depot Building, you may also drop off newspaper, office copy paper, aluminum cans as well as clean plastic shopping bags (like those from Wal-Mart, Dollar General and the like).

The recycling program DOES NOT ACCEPT GLASS of any kind.

They are being charged an additional fee from the recycler for the glass that is being thrown into the plastics dumpster. This has never been an issue before but, if it continues, they will be forced to DISCONTINUE THE RECYCLING OF PLASTICS IN TEUTOPOLIS. The Reycling Program is dependent on public donations to pay for the bi-monthly dumpster pick up.  It's rare that they collect enough money each month to cover the expense, let alone an additional cost for glass that is being dumped.

In order for recycling to continue in Teutopolis, you're asked to please be responsible and recycle only what is permitted at the site.
