A Teutopolis resident has been indicted by a Madison County grand jury on a felony count of aggravated domestic battery.

20-year-old William L. Beck is accused of choking a young woman during an incident in Madison County. The indictment was returned Thursday. The alleged victim is a 19-year-old Effingham resident who is a student at SIU Edwardsville.

Beck also faces a felony aggravated DUI count in Coles County. That count stems from a crash on Illinois 16 near Ashmore on October 25 in which Alyssa Camp of Kansas, Illinois, was injured and hospitalized.

Beck was due in court in Madison County Friday morning for a preliminary hearing. He is next due in court on the Coles County charge on April 28.
