More than 100 worshippers gathered under a full moon early Sunday morning at The Cross at the Crossroads in Effingham for the annual Easter Sunrise Service, sponsored by the Cross Foundation and the Effingham Ministerial Association.
Before delving into his sermon, Church of the Nazarene Pastor Clint Smallwood focused on the gigantic cross above him...
Music at the service was provided by Steve Jennings and Josh Bledsoe of First Baptist Church.
Temperatures for Sunday's event were just above the freezing mark. A full moon near "moonset" in the western sky eventually gave way to the sun just beginning to rise in the east at the conclusion of Sunday's service.
