Change in Ramp Location as Soon as Tomorrow on Interstate Project

The Illinois Department of Transportation says that as early as tomorrow (TUES), weather permitting, traffic on I-57/70 heading towards Mattoon will enter Stage 1B.

The change is being made to allow for the construction of the permanent I-57 northbound ramp and will require traffic to use the new pavement to access Northbound I-57. This will require traffic to move to the left about 1,000 feet prior to where traffic currently moves to the left. 

Construction officials and law enforcement personnel are asking for your patience and your close attention to the construction signs in the area.
