Altamont Motorcyclist Struck by Deer

An Altamont man riding a motorcycle was injured Wednesday morning when struck by a deer.

32-year-old Paul Leppin was traveling on US 40 near 450th Street just after 6:30am when a deer struck the cycle in the side. Leppin was injured in the resulting crash and was taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department handled the crash.
