Unit 40 School Board Expels Four Students

The Effingham Unit 40 Board of Education voted Monday to expel four students.

One student was expelled through the end of the 2015-16 school year, but is being referred to alternative school. Another student was expelled through the 2015-16 school year with no referral to alternative school.

Two other students were expelled through the 2015-16 school year, and were referred to alternative school, but also may apply for a return to Unit 40 after the end of the first semester next school year if the students have fulfilled certain requirements.
