Newton Teenager Injured in Crash

A Newton teenager was injured in a crash Wednesday evening.

The Effingham County Sheriff's Department said the crash occurred at 5:43pm on US 40, just west of 2200th Street in the east part of the county. Deputies report a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Gage Porter ran off the right side of the highway and ended up in a ditch.

Porter was taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.
