Another Big Year for Crop Yields in Area, Illinois

Effingham County saw another big year in terms of crop yields in 2014.

The Illinois Agricultural Statistics Service reported that Effingham County produced an average corn yield of 196.4 bushels per acre, close to the state average right at 200 bushels per acre.

Effingham County's average soybean yield was 58.8 bushels per acre, above the state average of 56 bushels per acre.
