Two Injured Thursday Night in Crash Near Altamont

Two people were injured in a crash Thursday night near Altamont.

The crash happened at 10:47pm on I-70 eastbound, one mile west of Altamont. 

State Police say 26-year-old Deron Paul Weaver of Singers Glen, Virginia lost control of his truck on black ice. The vehicle ran off the roadway to the right, overturned and landed upright in the ditch.

Weaver and his passenger, 53-year-old John Michael Weaver of Baltimore, Maryland, were both injured and both were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

No citations were issued.
