Another delay in the Coles County criminal case of Nicholas Jackson.
The 24-year-old Jackson is facing charges of armed robbery and home invasion. The armed robbery count stems from the holdup of Casey's General Store in Mattoon last August, while the home invasion count is the result of Jackson and another man allegedly entering a home in Mattoon last March and tying up the family inside.
Jackson was supposed to be in court Monday, but the defense obtained another continuance in the case. He is now due in court for a pre-trial hearing on March 30.
Meanwhile, Jackson is due to appear in court this Wednesday in Effingham County Circuit Court. He's charged locally with armed robbery for the alleged holdup of Econolodge on West Fayette in Effingham the day after the holdup in Mattoon.
