Shumway Man Taken Into Custody on Sexual Assault Count

A Shumway man was taken into custody early Thursday evening on a count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

32-year-old Mickey L. Johnson is accused of committing a sex act with a girl under age 13 in September 2011. Johnson was indicted on the charge by an Effingham County Grand Jury last week and has been sought since then. Johnson was apprehended without incident by the US Marshal's Service in Decatur.

Johnson is awaiting transfer to the Effingham County Jail.
