Windsor Board Finalizes Hatchet Nickname and Colors

Windsor school board members have formally approved the nickname and colors for the new co-op sports program with the Stewardson-Strasburg school district.

The boys basketball team next season will be the Windsor/Stew-Stras Hatchets and will utilize blue and green colors from both schools in the new color scheme for the co-op teams.

The districts have already been co-oping some sports; now all are included. Stew-Stras will be the host for some sports, Windsor the remaining sports.

The Windsor board also established guidelines for a sports cooperative transportation plan. A key item is that an event, whether at Stew-Stras or at Windsor, will be considered a home game, so the student-athletes will need to have a ride home as for any other home game. Superintendent Jeff Schoonover said they wanted to get that finalized to let parents know what would be the guidelines.
