A Clay County man has been sentenced to prison time on methamphetamine charges.

40-year-old Jason Shadle of Flora has been sentenced to 18 years in federal prison. Shadle had previously pleaded guilty to four counts in a federal indictment.

One count charged that from January 2011 until about April 8, 2014, Shadle conspired with others to manufacture more than 50 grams of meth. The second count charged that on May 3, 2012, Shadle possessed materials that could be used to manufacture meth with the expectation that the materials would be used for that purpose. The third count charged the same offense on April 7, 2014. The fourth count charged that from January 2010 to about March 25, 2014, Shadle possessed pseudoephedrine pills, expecting that the pills would be used to manufacture meth.

The investigation in the case was conducted by the Flora Police Department, the Clay County Sheriff's Department, and the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force.
