Following a discussion concerning the implementation of new technology at their high school that lasted more than three hours, the North Clay School Board Thursday voted to have the District purchase a Chromebook for each incoming freshman student, and to have the parents of each student pay a $29 insurance fee covering each Chromebook that the District would provide. The project will begin with incoming freshmen for the 2015-16 school year.

The discussion involved District Technlogy Coordinator Adrian Guzman, High School Principal Keith Price and several high school teachers. A description of options was presented, and many questions and scenarios were proposed.

Also Thursday, North Clay board members voted to ban Logan Hilderbrand from the North Clay district grounds for a period of one year, effective immediately.

In personnel decisions, the North Clay board granted an unpaid leave of absence to bus driver Steve Wilson; hired Joni Cooper as a substitute bus driver; hire Kaitlin Zink as junior high head volleyball coach; accepted the resignation of Travis Mulvaney as junior high assistant baseball coach; and accepted the resignation of Tim Harmon as bus driver.
